- download VS Code + Positron from the header.
- in VS Code or Positron, open the command palette and choose extensions: install from VSIX…, then select the downloaded file.
- open a
.rizzfile for highlighting, completions, and hover help.
to run code, also install R and the matching rizz R package (v0.4.0). in your R console, run:
install.packages(file.choose(), repos = NULL, type = "source")select the downloaded rizz_0.4.0.tar.gz. in Positron, start an R session; in VS Code, ensure Rscript is on your PATH or set rizz.rscriptPath. editing features work without R. this preview targets local files; remote workspaces and notebooks are not supported.
install in RStudio
- download RStudio from the header.
- in the RStudio console, run:
install.packages("rstudioapi")
install.packages(file.choose(), repos = NULL, type = "source")select rizz_0.4.0.tar.gz, then restart RStudio. open a .rizz file with file → open file.
in the addins menu, choose rizz: run document, rizz: run selection, or rizz: preview equivalent R. set shortcuts through tools → modify keyboard shortcuts.
runs include unsaved edits and keep variables in the global environment. relative file paths use your current R working directory. preview opens a new R tab without running or changing your code.
use these addins commands to run rizz; the ordinary run/source buttons do not translate it. these addins do not add slang highlighting or completion. notebooks and Markdown are not supported. examples using genzplyr also require that package locally.
